Description
An East facing wall found on the backside of an outcropping of rock. The bouldering here is good quality with nice landings for most of the routes. Found out about this area through bookofboulders.com. There's evidence of old bolts, a top rope pole, and homeless people burning tires and sleeping there. The easy access and close proximity to town make this spot worth a visit for an hour or two. There appears to be an even bigger cliff further uphill to the East, but the complete lack of details on what looks like a beautiful Trad climbing cliff lead me to believe that the cliff in question is on private property.
Getting There
As you head north on Virginia St., before you reach N. McCarran Blvd., turn right onto Comstock Dr. and follow it under McCarran Blvd. and over the train tracks. Make an immediate left after the train tracks and follow the dirt road that hugs as close as possible to the train tracks. Follow this road past trash piles, rail road tie piles, and through a couple of dirt road intersections, until you reach a "major" dirt road intersection, follow the middle road that heads slowly up into the hills. You know what, I'll just put up the road directions from the train tracks as an approach trail. If you look at google maps, it appears as if you could easily go off the backside of Silverstone Pl. down into the climbing area, DON'T! Silverstone Pl. is a private road and the residents there are not f***ing around about that.
