Description
This area has a fair concentration of routes and is one of the closer approaches. Hiking at a relaxed pace will have you at the base in under a hour.
The Devil's Gate Tower itself has a variety of offwidth and chimney routes. All routes will get you to the saddle where Virgin Sacrifice and Genesha are. One can also hike to the saddle with a bit of scrambling.
Getting There
The most direct approach is by following the D3 trail. Follow the main trail from the parking lot. Take D3 to the left as it splits from the main trail. The trails are all well-marked. Stay on D3 towards the mouth of the canyon. This will take you through a drainage and past The Slabs area. The trail will climb to the left after The Slabs and just before you reach the Schist Vein that runs along the bottom of the canyon. After a brief climb, the trail will level out, and a large boulder will appear on the left. Take the game trail past this boulder and towards the Devil's Gate Tower.
