Description
Located within the charming Grieg Garden, this bronze bust was created by Finn H. Frolich for the AYPE. In 1917 it was given to the University by the Scandinavian Societies of the Northwest and Alaska. Unexplained is why Grieg’s nose is shiny, since, unlike the toe of Saint Peter’s statue in Rome, it remains well out of reach of caressing hands. Perhaps it can be attributed to all of the marching dwarves, hidden gnomes and dancing elves that live within the secret garden realm.
