-There are no fires allowed anywhere, including the boulder basin & group campsites.
-Please carpool, parking is limited, so if you show up and there is nowhere reasonable for you to park, you must leave. (instead of parking somewhere unreasonable).
-Bring cash to park, lots of people showing up without cash. Even if you don't camp overnight, you still must pay for day parking.
-Don't climb boulders in/ around occupied camp sites (some say ask, personally I just go somewhere else).
-Spread out a bit.
Description
A less frequented area, this used to be the old climbers' campground in the past and has a great circuit of problems if you're looking for something new to do. Other than cleaning off some of the dirt and pine needle buildup, all the holds feel solid. A lot of the problems face North or partly Eastward, so there should be good coverage for most of the day apart from the early morning.
Getting There
From the parking lot below Boulder Basin, walk down Black Mountain road for about 400 feet until you see a split tree on your right, and an open area to your left. Cross the open area and continue walking farther back through the trees, crossing a dried creek into another open area. From here, begin angling uphill slightly to the right for another 200 feet or so until you can see the boulders from below.
