Description Suggest change

This southeast facing wall forms the right hand border of Granny Slab. It has a large roof that forms the most obvious landmark. There are several memorable three pitch routes here.

History
This wall saw its first action back in the 1980s. The routes Clean Slate and Scoot Scoot took two of the obvious lines, but required a lengthy 3rd class walk off. After Alan Bartlett’s East Side Climbing Guidebook, these two routes were never published in any guidebooks. Consequently, they saw little traffic over the years.  During the summer and fall of 2018, the old routes were cleaned up and new stainless steel ASCA anchors were placed, thus eliminating the heinous walk off.  New routes were also added to this zone.

Descent
A single 70m rope will get you up and down all of the routes here.

As of 8/2019, all fixed hardware on Solstice Wall is bomber Fixe stainless steel.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach

Park in the small paved pull out 0.4 miles upstream from the Big Meadow Campground/ the parking for Gong Show. Walk across the meadow and into the trees towards Rock Creek. Head upstream a short distance to the tree that crosses the creek. Once across the creek, follow cairns that head up and left toward Juniper Wall. Stay right of Juniper Wall and head up towards Magnus Pillar. Before arriving at Magnus, cut right across the slope to the gully below Solstice Wall. Allow 25 minutes.
