Description Suggest change

Comically short, if the rock were steeper, this would be better suited to high ball bouldering than rope climbing. Still, the opportunity to climb on reasonably good, featured granite might entice some climbers to give these routes a chance.

In Boise Climbs (a guide you should purchase!), Bee Block is listed as having one route, perhaps due to the diminutive nature of the formation. However, several distinct routes of ascent exist, as do multiple anchor stations.

No fixed protection currently defaces this pristine alpine block (mild sarcasm), save for the remnants of some very old unusable pins on Amber Alert. All routes are equipped with sport anchors except for Hive Mind, which is a separate block just uphill to the left. Protect with removable gear or equip for top roping. Top ropes should be sufficiently extended as all anchors are placed well back.

Getting There Suggest change

From the end of the pavement on Shaw Mountain Road, drive exactly 1.1 miles. The heavily-vandalized Bee Block is on the left (west) side of the road.
