HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
Tucked away on the west side of Kraft Mountain there are several large boulders scattered about, mostly of poor rock quality. - but this one large boulder is an outlier. The Marble Rye boulder holds at least two great problems, both with excellent movement and rock quality. The line on the south side of the boulder (the marble rye project) remains undone, as does the sit start of that line.
Getting There
The best approach is to begin at the Kraft parking lot and follow the trails as if you were going to Yin and Yang. However, after passing the Sorange boulder, take a faint trail on the right that leads up a steep gully towards The Spy Cliff. You will pass several large boulders. Trend uphill and to the right, as if you were going to go head for the summit. There is no trail at this point, but the boulder is in this vicinity.
