Description Suggest change

Above the north bay of State Line Cove, there is a long fin of rock that looks like a lower jaw.  This is Snaggletooth.

The routes here are mostly overhanging (slightly) and range in height from 20 to 40ft.  All routes can easily be top roped, since you can walk along the top of the fin to access all the top anchors.

The rock is an odd sandstone matrix that in spots looks like pocketed rhyolite, similar to Smith Rock.   On a single route, the climbing can be varied from pockets, to cracks, to crimps.

Development at Snaggletooth was started in 2017 and a significant amount of cleaning is required for each route. Even with cleaning, over time flakes develop, holds fall off, etc.  Wearing a helmet is strongly advised as the climbing here will always be somewhat chossy.

Since the rock is soft, all routes are equipped with stainless glue-in hardware.

Getting There Suggest change

Best way to get there is to simply follow directions to "State Line Cove" in Google Maps.

Take State Line Cove road, which is the first left you can take on your way to Lucerne Marina.

Park right below the crag if you have a vehicle with decent clearance, otherwise park just off the road to the west or down on the beach.  If you park on the beach, you will need to either have a Gorge Pass or pay the day-use fee.
