Bisetoon mountain is located along one of the main routes that connect Persia to Mesopotamia. It is the site to King Darius' Inscription. In folklore, Bisetun is inseparable from the love story of Shirin and Farhad. It is said that king Khosrow was in love with Shirin, and told Farhad that if he moves away the mountain in Kermanshah one piece of stone after another, he would let Shirin to stay with him. Farhad started to move the mountain, but unfortunately he died during his work, and now we see Bisetoon, it was left by Farhad. Kermanshah is named "the land for lovers" after this story.
