Description
The Wave is the 130 foot tall, bullet hard band of grey rock that sits above the area called The Coral. The left side includes the large roof and the route Gettin' Barreled. The middle section typically opens with lower quality rock through a roof sequence then face climbing on excellent edgy rock. These routes typically enjoy slab or small cracks through the grey band. The lookers right side includes the edgy face route Surfing in a Snowstorm. From these anchors you have a great view of the Outer Banks area and the left leaning crack called Riptide.
Getting There
The Wave is typically approached via climbing routes on the lower tier called The Coral. Additionally, you can begin with El Diablo de Oro, and traverse right onto the large ledge system with evergreen trees below The Wave. Be cautious of any loose rock and possible climbers below you!
