Description

The lower part of Monroe Canyon is composed of andesite, an "extrusive volcanic" rock. Monroe Creek has cut a steep, narrow canyon through this rock and left steep cliffs on both sides. The south side has the taller, more appealing cliffs.

Getting There

Leave the town of Monroe and drive east on Monroe Canyon Road for five minutes.
