Description
The Cove currently has 10 moderate routes ranging from 5.5 to 10d and offers a welcome retreat above the crowds. This crag sits high on the hillside across from and looking down towards Key Lime Sky and the Minimum. All the routes are bolted appropriately for the intermediate leader with nice beefy stainless bolts and chains with steel biners. The crag is southeast facing and gets sun from about 9:30am until ~3pm, so plan accordingly. This should make for good spring/fall climbing, or early morning / late afternoon in the summer.
Getting There
The cove is nestled in the trees on the north (right as you are walking up) side of the Right Fork. Its high above the main trail, but only takes about 9 mins to get there from the parking area.
Approach on the main trail as you would for the Minimum or any of the Right Fork crags. Once you pass the popular route Key Lime Sky on your left (Oxygen Wall), walk another minute or two and look for a trail heading into the woods on your right. If you see the Minimum on your left, you've gone a couple minutes too far. This is the Cove / Alcove access trail and has a sign about 100' in marking it so. Follow this trail for about 5 minutes as it switchbacks up the hillside and takes you to the walls. Once you are at the cliffs, The Cove is to the right up a couple nice sets of stairs. The approach trail brings you to the base of Berry Dazzle 10d.
