Description Suggest change

After several years of scouting, scrubbing and sending, Bad Rock Canyon, or “Berne Park” as we call it, now hosts more than two dozen problems, from V0 to V4. The rock doesn’t protect well, but it will certainly hold body weight. Approaches are 5-10 minutes at the most, and many problems are right by the highway. Holds are often sharp and occasionally fragile, and hard crimps and mantles make many of the cruxes. Most of the problems are 10-14 feet tall and have sit-starts. Flat landings, spicy top-outs and easy walk-offs abound.

Getting There Suggest change

Berne Park is located next to the giant pullout on the south side of U.S. Highway 2 between Columbia Falls and Hungry Horse. The spot is 2.7 miles from the intersection of US Hwy 2 and MT Hwy 35, and 1.2 miles from the bridge leaving Hungry Horse. The main area is roughly 50 yards west of the memorial fountain and clearly visible from the highway.
