Description
Two incredible sandstone blocks lie in the gully right off of the road around 200 meters before the parking area for Frenchman's flat. Most climbs face west, morning is a good time to hit them to avoid the sun. These are the first boulders of Piru creek, and a wonderful short stop. There are boulders, one has a relaxed v1 arête and the other arête climb on thaty boulder uses a pocket in the middle of the face. The other boulder is massive, and has a slab with multiple v0's and a hard v6 on the other side, as well as "First impressions" v8 a traverse into an arête. There is also potentially a really hard project on the tallest face of the first impressions boulder.
Getting There
When driving down the hill towards the parking lot, There is a gully/wash that runs parallel on the right side. Around 200 meters before the parking area, you can see two big boulders on the hill side to the right, directly down from them in the gully are the Roadside boulders of Piru creek. Its a very short walk from the car, go into the gully and it's impossible to miss the climbs.
