Getting weather forecast...

Description

After wearing a white cloak all winter long, Mingus Mountain glows green and gold in the morning light, standing tall above the Verde Valley. A passing climber wonders, "There must be something climbable up there." Be willing to search out these small and hidden crags and reap the benefits of only having to share the area with ghosts of the pasts as you encounter artifacts of another generation rusted in the washes. Limestone, Tuff, and Basalt randomize across the mountain with Ancient Seabed Sandstone poking a nose out here and there.

Getting There

North from Prescott on 89A and South from Cottonwood is the 7,800 ft peak known as Mingus Mountain.

Hay boots. Glad you took ten time to check out this convenient crag. Would love to leave perma-biners or add chains to these routes so if you get the itch to donate please do! Jan 6, 2018
Not a bad little crag at all, but what is the deal with all of the anchors? Most of them were one bolt/one rap ring, or one bolt/one bolt with a quick-link (laying flat to the wall). Curious if you have had problems with people stealing rap rings or if you set it up this way intentionally. Dec 13, 2017
