Description

The Purgatory Gap is a small side-canyon/narrows to the main Maple canyon drainage. It drains NW to SE. The routes outside the narrows proper get full summer sun. Inside the narrows all day shade may be found. Routes in the narrows are all less than 75' long. The routes outside the narrows are up to 200' and two pitches.

Getting There

Purgatory Gap is located on the north side of the Maple Canyon Road. It is the first small narrows/drainage up-canyon from Hourglass Canyon. Access the Gap via the Hourglass Canyon trail but cut left off that trail 20 yards after you cross the creek bottom.
