Description
The Main Wall is a highly concentrated area of easy climbs coupled with easy access to the top, ideal for beginners but with some variety for seasoned climbers and those looking practice rappel or trad technique.
The Main Wall is located on the West Face of Wolf Rock, directly off the main trail. It stretches south from the Wolf’s Head Pillar (located on the NE corner of Wolf Rock) to the ramp of a top access trail. The Main Wall features a variety generally easy climbs up blocky, cracked black rock streaked with white marble. Many of the climbs are 20 feet or less and are hardly more than 5th class scrambles, but a few sections are taller and with interesting features. The routes are slabby and are fun routes for beginner climbers, although numerous crack systems provide numerous gear placement opportunities.
