Description

The Emigrant Wilderness area spans 113,000 acres just north of Yosemite National Park. This wilderness area is comprised of granite peaks and ridges, clear and cold alpine lakes and beautiful scenery all around. Not a lot of technical climbing has been documented in the area but plenty of high quality rock is to be found.

Getting There

The Emigrant Wilderness Area is bordered by Yosemite on the South, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest on the east, and State Highway 108 on the north. We accessed the area at the Crabtree Trailhead near Pinecrest, CA. From here we hiked for several miles before seeing any major rock features.
