Permits can be acquired at the ranger station on the way to the boulders from the upper Tramway station.
Description
An area with a number of boulders scattered on the south facing hillside. Most of the boulders with smooth faces have good solid rock, while some others have rounded more grainy holds.
Getting There
This area lies to the west of the icebergs, about 400 yards north of the main trail just before the the sharp left bend at the west end of the Undiscovered Country.
Approach either from The Icebergs, or perhaps simpler walk uphill for about 400 yards from the main trail, just before it takes a sharp left turn to head off the Mt San Jacinto.
