Description

These are the boulders on the south side of the Ponderosa trail, close to the road. Similar to the other Ponderosa trail boulders, these are south-facing and thus pretty sunny, but there are a lot of big trees and shade is easily found. The boulders are of average to low height and are scattered along the road. If you don't mind the sound of some traffic, it's pretty idyllic.

Getting There

Take the Ponderosa trail (South Branch) heading west from the first parking lot. These are the boulders on the left (road) side of the trail. In fact, many of them face the road and are clearly visible when driving between the parking lots. That said, please be respectful and still use the designated parking lots and not park on the side of the road.
