Description
The other wall at Ravine Lake, this cliff has a little of everything from a 5.9 trad climb to 5.12 sport, all packed into a small section of good rock. The wall receives sun all day and dries fast after the rain. The rock is similar to other climbing areas in the Matanuska Valley and consists of a gritty and sometimes crumbly igneous intrusion. This area is suffering from erosion so pay attention to what you stand on and where you walk. DO NOT travel up either scree/dirt gullies!
Getting There
When driving from Anchorage turn left just past MP 83 of the Glenn highway onto the Bonnie Lakes road, a sign will give you some warning before the turn. Drive just over one mile down the road and the wall is on the right. Turn around in the AT&T gate area at the top of the crest of the hill and park. Walk down hill and the VERY short approach will then be on your left.
DO NOT travel up either scree/dirt gullies! This area is quickly disappearing and threatens the base of the climbs.
