South Buttress Rock Climbing

From the south side of the county road hike down the canyon trail (10 minutes); look to the right just after the canyon trail turns south again after bending east after the Main Wall - about 100 yards before you cross the dry stream bed of McLoughlin Creek (there's another old trail off to the right after the stream bed if you miss the first) - and follow a faint trail down along a shallow creek bed at the base of the east facing lower cliffs. Continue following this trail around to the west for about 50 yards once the South Canyon opens up. A short spur trail cuts right and switchbacks up to the base of the South Buttress to the north.
