Description
Getting There
Follow directions to the Snowbasin Ski Resort.
Once here, consider riding the Gondola (unfortunately, at the moment only open on weekends from June through October....hoping these opening times will increase in the future!) or hike....another great way to get to the climb, especially if visiting when the Gondola is not running, is to ride the very pleasant mountain bike trails to the base of the climb. The Snowbasin ski area has generously extended their weekend opening hours until 545pm (1745), so that makes it that much easier to get back to the Needles Lodge/gondola in time to ride back down after your climb.
Approach time from the Needles Lodge/Gondola is about 10-15 minutes, max. Use caution on the steep scree and early season snow/ice especially if you are wearing your climbing shoes. Hiking from the parking lot would be arduous. The formation and maps to it is noted on every summer and winter trail map to the area.
