Description Suggest change

Three sided formation protruding out of the hillside high above the highway. Faces south and the main wall gets all day sun. Assortment of mixed and fully bolted routes.

Getting There Suggest change

The total trail distance is 0.8 miles and gains 500' of elevation. ~300' of that lies in the first 0.25 mile. The remainder is spread out nicely over the next 0.50 + mile. The approach is quite pleasant and, unlike some other rarely visited crags on Lemmon (think Old Man Stone Face), the manzanita is of no real consequence.

Pull off for Prison Camp and park immediately on the right. Cross the highway keeping to the right of the entrance to the Forest Service maintenance yard 100' give or take. Look for an opening in the trees on the shoulder of the highway with a faint trail, then thread you way up the rocky hillside which will eventually deposit you on a broad ridge. Stay more-or-less on the top of the ridge until you are roughly eye level with the base of the crag. Leave the ridge line and contour over right to the base of the main wall. There is an intermittent trail along the way. See the map and the .gpx approach trail.

NOTE: There is a small crag visible from the road that lies up the initial hillside. That is NOT Garc. Keep moving passing it above and to your left.
