Description
The Main Wall is the most popular area to visit in Lost Horse. There is a large concentration of spectacular climbs as well as a large spectrum of grades. The climbs here are mostly crack climbs on perfect granite, home to some of the best splitters in Montana. A great area for the Summer and Fall, it can hold snow for a while into the spring and can get very hot on hot summer days. Bring plenty of water and expect a 25 minute approach.
Getting There
From the Lost Horse resort drive one mile and take a right to go up a steeper dirt road. This will take you to the quarry, which is the parking lot for the starlight lounge and main wall. From the quarry head west to a trail that continues west before heading uphill. There is a cairn marking the start of the trail, and should be a fairly obvious path.
