-There are no fires allowed anywhere, including the boulder basin & group campsites.
-Please carpool, parking is limited, so if you show up and there is nowhere reasonable for you to park, you must leave. (instead of parking somewhere unreasonable).
-Bring cash to park, lots of people showing up without cash. Even if you don't camp overnight, you still must pay for day parking.
-Don't climb boulders in/ around occupied camp sites (some say ask, personally I just go somewhere else).
-Spread out a bit.
Description
A collection of boulders that house some of the best climbs in Black Mountain. Temperature wise, perhaps one of the cooler areas as this spot provides shade for most of the problems on breezeless days.
The Black Mountain testpiece Bang On can be found here. Other notable climbs are Rounded Boulders Arete and Adamantium.
Getting There
Walk up the dirt road from Boulder Basin towards the fire lookout. The road can be found at the entrance to the campgrounds. At the first extreme switchback, go off the road to the left and follow a trail left and slightly downhill to the boulders. You know you're on the right trail when you pass a fallen tree that crosses the trail after about 10 seconds.
