Follow the main trail until you've passed Castleton Tower on the NW side, then follow some steeper loose footsteps up to the ridge. Once on the ridge, scramble up a short section of class 4 directly on the north side of the tower to the base of the tower, and then walk less than a minute left (west) to the base of North Chimney!
