Approach to Picacho Mountain West

When you leave the BLM Recreation Area Parking, follow the trail down and east. This will meet with the main trail heading up Picacho Mountain. Before the first incline there is a trail to the left. Take this along relatively flat land. Stay left at the two junctions. There is a faint but marked trail when you are nearing the base of the slope to the cliffs. Take this trail up past the first switch back and there is a slightly worn path to the cliff.
