This seems to be the more popular approach. High clearance is not needed to reach the trailhead, but 4WD might be helpful. Closely follow the cairns as the passage through the cliff bands is not obvious and there is only one way through the upper band! Lower band is cl. 3-4, upper band is cl. 4 climbing up a chimney/slot.
