From the parking lot, take the Loop trail heading northeast (counter clockwise) for just over 1 mile. At about 0.9 miles, do NOT take the trail on the right to the Buzzard's Roost Primitive Camping Area. Stay left on the Loop trail. In 200 feet, when the trail crosses Sandy Creek, Buzzard's Roost is directly in front (north) of you.
