The preferred approach starts out of the west end of the parking lot near the registration sign. Follow the trail along some loose scree and a past a few carins to the canyon floor. Head upstream (east) for a few minutes to the climbing.
- *The old path headed in a more direct line straight down the steep, loose scree out of the parking lot. But, after years and years of slipping down this, it's still quite loose. The descent on the western edge of the parking lot has a much greater chance of one day actually being solid, so please use it instead.
