Leaves the Mono Pass Hiking Trail at (N37.4186 W118.7723) above NNW side of Ruby Lake. Gets right into the scrambling. Expect some 5th class sequences. Climbing is mostly finished around (N37.4210 W118.7717). Then it's worth hiking NE then SE to reach a great viewpoint (N37.4211 W118.7705) at the S end of the Mt Starr summit ridge.
