| The BLM notice about closure of the BLM campground lists the following as alternatives (ostensibly for the public) # Spencer W. Kimball Scout Reservation, (702) 968-8138 # Potosi Pines Camp, (702) 875-1980 # Clark County Shooting Park, (702) 455-2000 The first two appear to be private concerns, at least their websites don't list camping. The CCSP doesn't list camping that I could find, not that I would want to climb there. Additionally, the 1st item on the BLM site lists Red Rock Canyon backcountry for camping. This seems to contradict all the camping strictures for Red Rocks. Perhaps someone can explain if these listed alternatives for camping are available. I understand the BLM campground is supposed to be open Oct 1. If these alternatives are available it could be useful if the campground opening is delayed or full. | FLAG |

| I don't know about the others you posted, but I'd suggest Lovell Canyon. It's free, fairly close and you shouldn't be bothered, although it is primitive with no services. www.sunsetcities.com/lovell-canyon.html I was at a meeting last night where it was confirmed that the BLM Campground is indeed opening this Friday in the AM. Happy climbing. | FLAG |

| the blm made arrangements with those listed above, so campimg is available at those sites. also, you can camp in red rrock as long as it is above 5000 ft elevation, a permit is required for this though. hope this helps | FLAG |

| I drove through the campground yesterday and they are open. They are still building the shade structures. It looks like they have poured a concrete slab at each site with a metal shade structure and picnic table. They have also added some wooden benches by the fire pits.
