Where is this and what type of rock is it? I'm just looking for the general area. It also looks flat, do you think water would pool there after it rained?

Just curious, thanks for the effort of replacing!

Mike, the place is in Saint Maarten Dutch Caribbean and is at Oyster Pond Rocks, is a route on a slab that I have to clean up and as you see replace the hard wear, is next to the ocean side and The chain is Iron, old as my grandma and I'm not sure wath kind of rock but look like sand stone.

Go titanium - I've seen lesser supposed marine grade hardware snap after fewer than 5 years. Save steel hardware for non marine environments.

I strongly agree. NEVER use steel of any kind in your environment. Certainly, do NOT put steel chain on a Ti bolt!

Ti quick-links are available from Martin, or on-line from several other suppliers.

On the Brac I just use two Tortuga-style Ti bolts for the anchor.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
