Description
Begin in a sit start with a triangle shaped hold for your left hand and a flat edge for your right. Move up and right through a powerful, crimpy crux section before traversing into the middle of the cave on a good jug seam. From here make another powerful move through a steep section and link into the final crux of Amphibious to finish the problem. With over twenty moves, this is a great power endurance challenge.
It is possible to exit early to the right after making it through the crux, following the large seam. This variation is called Hellbender Right and is roughly a grade easier than the standard line.

To reach the Amphibious cave, follow the same directions for Dark Forest, but continue on the trail for annother 50 yards or so until you reach a section of the trail blocked by a few large fallen trees. From here go straight downhill to the water’s edge. You should see the cave slightly to your right. Hellbender starts on the right side of the cave on a triangle shaped hold.
