Warning Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

A tenuous seam with interesting movement and convoluted beta. Probably the worst of the climbs on the boulder due to rope logistics, rock quality, and fall zone, but still worth 3 stars in its own right.

Stand start (Same as Top Access) with a good high crimp above head height, either matched or with a small two finger crimp to the right. Perform a slab style mantle to get into the scoop, then begin the layback crimp fest that continues up and to the left for 20 feet with some challenging moves before the jugs at the end. The landing for most of the climb is a bush and the is high and rather poor. With 5 or 6 pads you could have a decent amount of cushion, but falling is still not recommended.

The rock quality in the seam is good, but there may occasionally be holds that chip slightly.

The easiest way to work this climb on top rope is to use the bolt immediately above Big Delicious and figure out the top half by leaning to the right as best you can. To work the bottom half, wrap the rope around the large square edge halfway between Top Access and the bolt, and then run it immediately to the right back down to the beginning of Fully Fledged.
