Description

"Mongo Like Crack" is the thin corner just right of 'Candygram for Mongo'. Start up the coarse, lichen covered slab below the corner. Find the small placement then clip the bolt to get to the base of the crack in the corner. Once at the corner (~5.8), follow it to the overhang. Slot several small pieces, then pull the face moves (5.10c) to gain the upper corner. Very nice!

Location

This is right of Candygram for Mongo.

Rap from the anchors.

Protection

1 bolt and a standard rack with an emphasis on smaller gear.

Protection at the crux is a good 1/2" to 3/8" crack:  Stopper or tiny cam.

[Hide Comment] Went up to the crag last Saturday, 8/20. Climbed both Mongo's and Black Bart. A little wet from the Friday night rains. Set topropes for the routes. Excellent climbing, and there is more to be climbed in the immediate area. Look forward to new routes going in. Aug 25, 2016

[Hide Comment] To clarify the ambiguous gear info: cams in BS: 0.2-3, doubles of 0.3-0.5, and nuts. A fun route with a short crux. Jun 15, 2025

[Hide Comment] This was a great route with a fun layback on a thin crack. The face climbing felt a bit harder than 10b/c, but it took a 0.5 cam as well as a 0.1 z4 cam that was bomber. Just look for the small crack. Fantastic route. Sep 26, 2025
