Description
A hidden canyon nearly in plain sight. Very close to the road, great trail up and sports some short E facing shady walls (a nice relief to the usual afternoon sun that most the fins receive). There are 3 different crags (to be) here in Y canyon. The first you see above the talus field on your left, is a tall 30+ meter fin that is sure to host a few long great lines, this rock band extends further back and features some shorter but quality stone. Continuing up the trail the second set of fins and east facing shorter wall appear on the right. This section is a maze/jungle gym of potential. Good luck, no lead bolts although many of these can be easily accessed from the top with a bit of hoofing. Expect a few quality lines in the next few weeks.
Getting There
1.7 miles from the gate. Drive just past pumphouse 2 and the drive by “Campground Crag”. Park for campground crag or the pull out where the tube crosses the river at 1.7. Walk across the tube and where the dirt comes up to meet the tube just across the river take a right on a faint trail through the bushes before it becomes well established and follow this up into the canyon. 10 min approach.
