Description Suggest change

This area sits between the north end of Bald Mountain and Shaver Lake. It includes a collection of 30-40 moderate routes, mostly all bolted and most are slab style. Some gear may be needed, especially for anchoring if continuing to the top of the lower tier. There are 2 tiers to the formation with most routes on the lower tier.

The access road is closed in winter and only open late season, but biking there is a good option in earlier summer.

Getting There Suggest change

Turn toward Dinkey Creek when first coming into the main business area of Shaver Lake. After a bit more than 5 miles the access road (9S05) is left at Markwood Meadows. Bald Mountain with its lookout is a good landmark to understand when you are getting close. The road passes below the west side of it. After the left turn onto the access road, take a right soon after at the first Y and go 4 miles gaining about 800’ of elevation. When it descends a bit to the Stevenson Creek cement crossing you’ve arrived. The dome will be visible as a short hike uphill from here. The area was affected by the Creek Fire.
