Description Suggest change

Block Tower, as the name suggests, is the peak with the blocky summit, just south of Shark's Nose. There are two routes that are generally taken to the summit, one climbing from the East (above Cirque Lake), and the other from the Northwest. Both routes meet on an airy ridge that leads south (away from the col with Shark's Nose) to a large ledge below the summit block.

Getting There Suggest change

From the Lonesome Lake area, to get to the East side of Block Tower, hike the trail that heads up past Pingora towards Cirque Lake. Leave the trail and make your way through talus on the South side of the lake. You will likely have to traverse a snow slope below the tower, which might need some traction (crapons/axe) in the early season. The Northwest route is approached from Shadow Lake, heading south, past Shark's Nose. Expect some snow here as well.
