Description Suggest change

Shakespeare Rock is the obvious North facing rock above Highway 50 and Glenbrook. The rock is andesite and can be loose.
The name comes from a likeness of Shakespeare scraped into lichen. It is also known as Glenbrook Rock.
A few routes were done here in the 1970s. In 1987 Jay Smith, Paul Crawford, Dan Osman and others began further development, at the Heavy Metal Wall, which is inside a Roofless Cave, known as "The Eye of the Hurricane". Routes have also been done on the outside face.

Getting There Suggest change

This rock is between Cave Rock and Spooner Summit above Glenbrook. Park below the rock at a dirt service road. Walk up the road a ways then scramble up to the base of the rock.
