Description

A bouldery crux start leads to a cruiser mid-section, capped with another steep crux at the top. This is a great first lead.

Location

Thunder Will is left of Lightning Crashes.

Protection

6 glue-in bolts to over the top anchors.

[Hide Comment] The start is very undercut, and if you are short, it is much harder than 5.7+.
Also, there is a sizable ledge halfway up that your belay should pay attention to. Nov 26, 2012

[Hide Comment] As mentioned, the start is undercut. We had to hoist the kids up to get started. Belaying was tricky as the ground here was slippery. I think the start of the route was more 5.9 (crux for sure) and then 5.8. The big ledge 1/4 up the route and then climb to the next bolt makes things a bit tricky. Great route, good holds, but the start and ledge make this technically tougher than a 5.7 IMHO. Aug 21, 2014
