Me almost half way Photo by Edge

Description

This is a classic ice gully that gets super fat. It climbs the obvious gully between two tall rock walls. The climb gets harder as you go! Top out at the trees on top.

Location

Canal Zone, 30' left of the great white hype

Protection

Screws and trees, or toprope

I was informed this past weekend that Jon Fauser and the Brewster Outdoor Club added a couple lines off the left side of this climb. One climb is on the left where Yukon Jon begins. There is a small left facing inside corner with some ice in it. The climb goes up that and I believe to the left side of the arête above it to the trees. The other climb starts partway up the Yukon Jon gully and goes up the wall somewhere on the left. Probably more rock than ice on that one I would suspect.
