The steep East face of Yellow Devil.


Yellow Devil is a cool, little spire first ascended by the Conns in 1959. The spire has two horn-like summits and a yellow South face.

Getting There 

Just North of the Torch, 30 yards North of Portal Peak.

Climbing Season

For the The Needles Of Rushmore area.

A stunner of a line that, surprisingly, went all on gear! Scramble up to a ledge to belay from. Step left off ledge to start in first crack, then follow weaknesses from there. Crux comes near the end as the crack pinches, but don't fret, decent holds and gear keep appearing. Bottom half is a little dirty with lichen while the top is clean.
