Would you wear these? (realization pants)
Is this a fashion statement thing? I would have to say... someone else can be the trend-setter for this. |
Ahh dude! they"ve got gear loops! just what I needed for when I... Or when I wanna hang my... maybe while climbing I could...... yeah that's dumb. |
Why not? I already look like a helpless tool when I'm climbing; these pants will fit right in... |
I would. I cough at their price tag. If their price were a bit more friendly, I'd bite. Course, this is coming from a guy who spent four+ years climbing in one pair of Prana's Stretch Zion pants. Patched to the end. I retired a harness before those pants ;) I'd opt for their shorts though. |
I'd only wear them if they were brighter, and had more, bigger logos all over them...then i'd look really cool! |
Don't get me wrong, for I like the elephant company. Pretty much exclusively use their ropes... |
only if they came with more gear loops and a butt flap. |
A friend of mine saw a Mammut ambassador using them a while ago and said that they actually seemed to work fairly well and that they looked comfy. |
They, for some stupid reason, have the shorts version at the Mammoth Gear shop in Bishop, I've yet to see anyone use them. |

Not interested unless the logo is at least twice it's current size and preferably located right across the butt (optimal for brand exposure in every photograph ever taken from the deck of a sport climber). |
Once I'm very old and need a different thrill, I'll wear them commando style and play Russian roulette with my sack. |
Remember the days when you had to buy a camera, if you wanted a camera, and a phone if you wanted a phone? Somethings simply don't need to come as a package deal. |
I am ordering those right away, and matching Da Brim sun visor to go with them. |
Some of you are jumping to conclusions. |
If they had more gear loops. There is a lot I don't like about them though so probably not even with added feature. |
I have the shorts, hate on me all you want. They are perfect for the gym or sport. When trad climbing I put on my BD harness mainly because the shorts only have 2 gear loops. |
what if i have to go to the bathroom? do I unharness? |

Mike Caracciolo wrote:I have the shorts, hate on me all you want. They are perfect for the gym or sport. When trad climbing I put on my BD harness mainly because the shorts only have 2 gear loops. In my opinion if these came first the harness would seem weird. It annoys me that the climbing community looks down on progression and evolution yet everyone wants to be the first one to send a 5.24a+ Do you honestly think La Dura Dura would be possible without today's technology in shoes? They evolved over the years. Why can't the harness? Climbing has so many different disciplines for some many different people. Just enjoy what you get out of it.OK that's cool man I get where you're coming from but do you really clip stuff to your pants like you're quickdraws and cams? I think comparing these to climbing shoes and climbing technology is a little different Because: 1) climbing shoes have improved climbers performances unlocking new and harder climbing grades. 2) climbing technology such as cam have unlocked new routes that, before active gear, were almost impossible to climb safely. these seem like more of a fashion statement than actually useful since my harness already has gear loops and those "gear loops" look like they would just get covered up by my harness. |

I don't think you all understand. This isn't about performance, fashion, or comfort. This is entirely a reason to take your pants off at crowded areas, sometimes several times a day. |
