The best wall/area at Barndoor Gap, with the highest concentration of problems. The Winter Wall is a cave like feature at the end of Barndoor gap. It's routes range from hard bouldering to easy trad. The rock here is of decent quality, though expect to break off some holds when trying to find new routes.

On the left side of the wall lies a thirty foot vertical crack system that goes at around 5.8. To the right the cave becomes overhanging at about forty-five degree, and hosts a variety of boulder problems. Still further right are several potential lines that could be done on TR or as highball problems.

Getting There

Follow the path over the top of Barndoor Gap, and around the backside to the bottom of the cliff. The Winter Wall is the most overhanging and impressive section of this small scraggly cliff band.
Alternatively, walk along a stone wall at the bottom of the cliff until you reach the end of the cliff line. The Winter Wall will be very obvious.

Delirium's Cure V7 7A+  New Hampshire : Lakes Region : ... : Winter Wall
The obvious line on the far left end of the steep wall. Start on a good right hand crimp, and a decent chip for the left. Move up through some tension based holds, up to the big move to the hold over the lip. It’s not actually over. Pull your way onto the slab, then keep it together for a few easy moves, and a somewhat hairy and high topout. Walk/scramble/shrub climb right to the ledge and down climb Down Not Out (V0-) or move directly up to top out and walk around the cliff line....[more]   Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
