Excellent beginner climbing area or learning to lead area. Climbs range from 5.4-5.8. Usually pretty nice out here, the place sits close to a rain shadow so often driving in from Nordegg if you pass through rain it will be sunny by the time you get to the crag. This is slab climbing and the rock is pretty sharp limestone. All the routes are bolted very well.

Getting There

Coming from Nordegg about 35km, once you pass the mount Mitchner lookout look to the right for the crag beyond the small pond. Park on the left side of the road turnout. Follow the path in, cant miss it.

Climbing Season

For the Alberta area.

Just a sample of the routes at this crag. Descriptions taken from the Center for Outdoor Education guide book. If you plan on visiting the area please stop by their lodge and grab a guide book. They maintain and build pretty much all the climbing in this area. They are located just a couple of km west of Nordegg on the right hand side of the road. Super friendly and helpful people, they can hook you up with some rentals if needed as well. Visit for more info.
