Technically this area is on Mt. Willey but it is best approached on the railroad tracks from the parking lot at the top of the Notch (just south of the AMC Highland Center).

Getting There

From the parking lot at the top of the Notch, walk a little over a mile south along the RR tracks (past Cinema Gulley and the approaches to Gulley#2 & #1 ) until you reach the very large trestle that spans Willey Brook. Leave the tracks before the trestle and walk up the right side of the ravine a couple of hundred yards. Bear right when the gully forks. The routes will be on your right. (1.4 miles total approach).

Alternatively, you can approach from the south along the RR tracks from Willey's Slide (a total of about 1.25 miles...all uphill)

One might consider approaching on XC skis.

Climbing Season

For the Mt. Willard (Ice) area.

Blue Ribbon WI3 M3  New Hampshire : * Ice and Mixed Climbing : ... : Willey Brook
This climb is located on a rock face to the right of the start to Streamline. Blue Ribbon is the biggest flow in the center of the wall. Climb the nice flow until it ends at a small broken tree. Finish up the rock section following the crack and corner system placing rock pro to the trees above. Very Fun!...[more]   Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
