What's the deal with pulleys that hate pulling? (Seinfeld voice)

So I injured my pulley months back and took a good amount of time off. I have started climbing again with some H taping and things seem goodish, but I do still feel pain and tenderness at times. If you have experience; when did you consider yourself healed? At the cessation of pain or some other factor?
