Description Suggest change

From the true summit, just walk west to the beginning of this exposed third and fourth class ridge. It's short, but the rock is solid, the exposure grand, and the views are spectacular.

After a fourth class move or two to get on the ridge, the ridge can be followed almost all the way to the west "summit" like a sidewalk in the sky. Alternately, you can drop to one side or another if you'd prefer an opportunity to use some hands.

Location Suggest change

This ridge looks good on the approach from May Lake, but you'll really appreciate it from other parts of Tuolumne's summit ridge. Get on the ridge from the east. The rock on the south face of the ridge is loose, and people have been injured gaining the ridge via this face.

Protection Suggest change

None.
